About Hair Experts
Hair Experts publishes the Shed Clock: plain-language, sourced timelines for hair shedding after specific triggers.
Editorial guidance: William Gaunitz. Page-level editorial review is in progress; until a page is marked reviewed, treat it as a sourced summary rather than reviewed clinical guidance.
Editorial standards
- Every number has a source. Timeline windows come from dermatology bodies (such as the American Academy of Dermatology and DermNet), peer-reviewed journals, or FDA drug labels, linked on the page.
- If we can't source it, we leave it out. Where evidence is thin we say so instead of guessing.
- Cautious language. We write "typically" and "commonly reported" because individual timelines vary.
- No invented testimonials, reviews, statistics or credentials.
- Not prescriptive. We never tell you to start, stop or change a medication.
- Disclosed links. Some pages link once to our sister brand Advanced Trichology, always labelled.
- Corrections. Each page shows its last-updated date and is revised when sources change.
Privacy & analytics
We measure how people use the site so we can improve it. Cloudflare Web Analytics (when enabled) is cookie-free and does not fingerprint visitors. If Google Analytics 4 is enabled it runs with IP anonymisation. We record a few anonymous events: which trigger is chosen in the calculator (never the date you enter), atlas search terms, clicks on related-trigger links and clicks out to trichology.com and Advanced Trichology. The calculator itself runs entirely in your browser.
